Crafting Your 2014 Financial Blueprint

Crafting Your 2014 Financial Blueprint

Good morning! At Make Money Your Way, I’ve put together some tips on how to make money with New Year’s resolutions. Here are my financial goals for 2014!

### Increase Net Worth by 30%
Last year, I didn’t hit this target, but I’m hopeful and setting it again for 2014.

### Make $60,000 in Online Income
I currently make $3,000 to $4,000 a month from blogging, and my goal is to increase that to $5,000 monthly. This amount will allow me to live comfortably, travel when I want, and have a bit extra each month for emergencies or unexpected expenses.

### Keep Donating 10% of Online Income to Charity
Since July 2013, I’ve committed to donating 10% of my online income. I’m sponsoring two students from my village, covering their boarding school fees. It’s about $5,000 a year for both, but a reader’s $2,000 donation reduces my cost to $3,000. I also plan to support other students or purchase computers for the school.

### Turn a Profit with Land Development
We’ve nearly obtained all necessary authorizations, so we’re ready to start selling plots. The website, featuring a map of the compound with clickable plots showing size and price, is almost finished. I’ll also post ads on international real estate sites.

### Make $5,000 with the Guest House
We aim to earn around $500 a month by renting out rooms in our guest house, totaling $5,000 for the year. This should cover our staff and utility costs, essentially allowing us to live for free. We have two rooms available, plus our own room, which we rent out when we’re away. For instance, we rented our room for a month while we were in Miami, so we’re off to a great start!

That’s it, five goals should be enough for the year. What are your financial goals this year? Joe shares his on Budget Breakaway. If you want to start the New Year financially fit, Savvy Scot is starting a financial boot camp.
