The Return of My Presence!

The Return of My Presence!

Hi friends! If you read my last Little House in Guatemala update, you’ll know that I’m back home. Actually, I’ve been home for a while but have been super busy with Airbnb guests. We hosted eight people in the first ten days we arrived, plus my boyfriend’s aunt. On top of that, the lake has been rising, and our water pump broke, leaving us without running water for a bit. It was a hectic time.

I missed my little house and wanted to get back into a routine. Getting back into physical activity was a mixed bag. Sure, we walked around a lot, and some say riding a motorcycle is a workout, but I stopped running once we got to Morocco. Mainly because the winter days meant the sun was rising late, around 8 AM in France, and running in the dark at 5:30 AM isn’t fun. Also, we were eating out every day and drinking a lot, so I felt sluggish. Coming back home, my boyfriend got me new running gear. No more excuses!

Now I’m back to running 8-10K three times a week. I can run for an hour without getting out of breath and then enjoy a swim in the lake. It’s the best way to kickstart the day with a lot of energy.

On the blog front, I bought another PF website, which has taken a lot of my attention. The migration to my server was messy due to a confusion with Hostgator, leading to multiple server switches. It was a real headache.

During our two-month trip around Europe, I tried to stay offline as much as possible to enjoy the trip and spend time with my boyfriend. It was mostly successful thanks to having posts planned in advance and my wonderful VA handling things behind the scenes.

Thank you to the amazing bloggers who hosted the Carnival of Financial Independence in my absence. Moving forward, I’ll alternate hosting with other bloggers, doing it once or twice a month, with the other weeks open to volunteers. You can sign up to host on bloggercarnivals.com.

I did my best to keep up with my favorite blogs by reading them offline when the internet wasn’t reliable. However, I wasn’t great at staying in touch or commenting, so I hope you’ll forgive me.

With the blogs on autopilot, it was easy to take a break and just watch from the sidelines. Then at one point, there weren’t enough posts lined up, and I got lazy, like getting back into running after a long break.

But now I’m back and full of energy! I’ve written about 20 posts in the past few days for all three websites I manage. I’ve also implemented some new ideas to improve things, and I hope you’ll join me in the new year.

Reach Financial Independence will feature 2-3 posts per week and remain my personal outlet for life updates, random thoughts, and posts about achieving financial independence and early retirement. I’ll try to resume the Wednesday guest posts about your journey to financial independence, so let me know if you want to be featured.

Make Money Your Way will have three posts a week again. One will focus on investing or real estate, another on side hustles and ways to earn extra money or advance your career, and the third on online income and blogging.

Lastly, my third website will feature 2-3 posts a week about frugal living, saving money, travel, life goals, and self-improvement. I’ll reveal its name once I’ve broken even from the purchase, which should be in less than six months.

That means I’m looking at writing around seven posts per week. Wow! I already have a staff writer for the investing posts, but I want to keep my two sites personal and engaging so they continue to grow. Let me know if you have any suggestions on how to improve. Thank you for sticking with me during these busy times!

How is life treating you? Are you looking forward to the holidays, or already enjoying them?
